Our consultants have the experience, analytical and communication skills and ability to consistently deliver MYR’s services. We are focused on making risk management interesting; ensuring our clients enjoy working with us and, always, on delivering required outcomes. Our culture is in consistently delivering quality, practical outcomes.

The core competencies of the MYR Consulting team are effective communication, analysis and problem solving. Our team facilitates around 400 risk reviews each year and we collectively have developed over 3000 risk registers since 2000. We have worked with over 200 clients in 20 countries and developed and maintained over 40 ERM programs and worked in many others.  

John McVeigh


John McVeigh, Managing Director MYR Consulting Group
John founded MYR in 2000. He has directed the international growth of our business and service development. With legal and economics degrees and 20 years in risk management, John develops program strategies and oversees implementation. He has facilitated hundreds of risk and strategic planning reviews. He leads ERM and professional services risk programs. 

Nick de Beuger


Nick de Bueger, Managing Consultant – Australia
Nick joined MYR in 2002. Nick is a highly experienced facilitator of strategic, corporate, project and technical risk reviews in Australia and internationally. With over 10 years experience in risk management, his particular focus is in project risk management and coordinating ERM programs. In approaching risk management, Nick is focussed on delivering well structured programs that produce quality outcomes to enable successful, measured and sustaining risk management for his clients. He has a Bachelor of Science. Nick is a principal facilitator and oversees service delivery for MYR’s Australian clients. 



John Rogers, Senior Consultant
John joined MYR in 2011. John’s depth of experience in law, risk management and as a senior insurance executive enables him to consult at the highest levels of management on governance, ethics, compliance and professional liability risk. He was a partner with national firm Phillips Fox and has 20 years experience in risk management and insurance.

Cameron Hay


Cameron Hay, Senior Consultant
Cameron joined MYR in 2005. Cameron has extensive experience in strategic planning, business continuity management and compliance. Cameron has a law degree and worked as a journalist in Japan for 8 years prior to joining MYR. Camerons’ written and verbal communications skills underpin his role in training and education. 



Kelly Chesters, Consultant
Kelly joined MYR in 2007. Kelly plays a key role in the development, implementation and coordination of ERM programs for a wide range of clients. She leads our Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility services and is certified as a lead auditor of WHS management systems. Kelly utilises her broad knowledge of risk management, its pratical application and integration in facilitating risk reviews for her clients that deliver well structured meaningful results. Kelly has a Bachelor of Science and is currently completing a MBA. 

Heidi Aldred, Consultant, joined MYR in 2012. Heidi has a legal and economics degrees. Heidi commenced her career as a commercial lawyer specialising in the resources sector. She then joined Computer Power Group as general counsel and company secretary. She brings senior practical commercial experience to her role at MYR, where she coordinates ERM programs and oversees the quality of MYR outputs.

David Nixon, Chairman, joined MYR in 2007. David provides governance oversight and is responsible for guiding service delivery standards and business development in Australia. David has extensive construction and mining engineering experience, gained over 40 years as a principal of Signet Engineering and Fluor in Western Australia. He is a Board member for a number of listed entities in the Australian mining industry.

Gary Jeffery, Ambassador Oil and Gas, joined MYR in 2012 to support the development of our Australian business. Gary has a wealth of international expertise in exploration, development projects and producing assets in oil, gas, energy and minerals. He has been an executive director of listed public companies in Australia, Canada and Uganda. He is currently a director of Xstate Resources Ltd and Bombara Energy Pty Ltd. Gary is an accomplished communicator, with cultural sensitivity and government relations skills. Among his many industry interests, he has been an Industry Liaison contact for the Reserve Bank of Australia, is on the Industry advisory Group Member of WA Energy Research Authority (WAERA), and is a member of the Australian Institute of Energy, the Petroleum Club of WA, SEAPEX and the Indonesia Petroleum Association.
